Erik, a revered high school football coach whose life has taken an unexpected turn with the diagnosis of ALS in 2021. Despite the challenges imposed by this progressive neurodegenerative disease, Erik's story epitomizes unwavering strength and determination, inspiring us all. Alongside him on this journey is his devoted wife, Skye, and their three remarkable boys—Kire, Jack, and Kael—who embody unity and resilience in the face of adversity.
Throughout Erik’s journey, his wife, Skye, has stood steadfastly by his side, helping him fulfill his calling while balancing the responsibilities of raising their family. Since Erik's ALS diagnosis in June 2021, Skye has taken on more responsibilities, supporting him in various ways, from driving him to practices to assisting with the administrative duties that came with coaching high school football and now taking on a more primary role of the day to day hurdles that come with the setbacks of living with ALS.
As we gather at the gala to celebrate Erik's life and legacy, we also recognize the integral role Skye plays in this journey. Together, we strive to amplify the message of hope, strength, and the enduring power of community.
